The AAT Access Award in Bookkeeping is also the perfect springboard for becoming further qualified with the AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 2).

General Bookkeeping Responsibilities & Salary

As a Bookkeeper you’ll be responsible for a few different areas of the business, including but not limited to:

  •    Recording transactions (income and outgoings)
  •    Processing payments
  •    Conducting daily banking activities
  •    Producing various financial reports
  •    Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements.

Salaries range by industry, sector and role, however, industry averages of a Senior Bookkeeper are between £16,000 and £32,000 a year, with a UK average of £27,000 a year.

AAT Exam Details

The AAT require all students to join as a student member. AAT require you to register as a student member within 14 days of your course start date. This registration allows you to sit any necessary exams and take advantage of the support and resources available. The following items are not included in your course fees:

  • £44 subscription fee, this can be included in your course fee with us, or you can pay AAT directly. If you are already a member, you may not be required to pay this fee.
  • Exams cost approximately £60-85 per exam depending on the exam centre.
