The AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 2) delivers the skills and knowledge to manage books effectively. Topics covered include manual double-entry bookkeeping and associated documents and processes (up to Trial Balance standard), giving delegates a firm knowledge of bookkeeping procedures. This course will help you work towards a career in Bookkeeping, or to work towards becoming an independent Bookkeeper.

This course comprises two key topics, covering 12 modules:  

Processing Bookkeeping transactions

  •    Double-entry bookkeeping skills
  •    Using business documents
  •    Applying discounts and VAT
  •    Processing customer and supplier transactions
  •    Processing receipts and payments
  •    Using a cashbook and petty cashbook
  •    Extracting a trial balance

Bookkeeping Controls

  •    Using controls in a bookkeeping system
  •    Using and reconciling control accounts
  •    Using the journal and suspense account
  •    Correcting errors in the system
  •    Reconciling the bank
