NEBOSH vs. IOSH

If you’re considering a career in health and safety, you would have weighed up the options of studying towards a NEBOSH and IOSH qualification. Both are excellent choices but which one you choose depends on what you are looking to do career-wise.

NEBOSH and IOSH both provide industry recognised training and qualifications in health and safety, however, there are some key differences between the two.

NEBOSH

NEBOSH is an awarding body, and the NEBOSH General Certificate is highly recognised throughout the industry. It demonstrates that a candidate has a strong understanding of health and safety. NEBOSH training courses are comprehensive in both duration and depth of knowledge and understanding, making it a great choice for those looking for a career in health and safety.

NEBOSH qualifications were developed for health and safety professionals or those wanting to further their career in the industry and achieve professional certifications.

We offer two NEBOSH training courses:

IOSH

IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is a health and safety membership organisation for professionals, a not-for-profit institution, and an awarding body. IOSH training is typically completed quickly (we offer a 3-day Virtual Classroom course).

IOSH qualifications are typically designed for non-health and safety individuals looking to increase their efficiency in the workplace and manage risks.
