What is AWS Cloud Computing?

In Amazon’s own words, Amazon Web Services (AWS), is “the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully-featured services from data centres globally.” So why are businesses turning to AWS? Well, they’re using it to become more agile, innovate faster, and lower costs.

AWS has unmatched experience, security, reliability, and performance that you can depend on. AWS has delivered cloud services to millions of customers around the world for over 15 years now.

There are three main types of cloud computing, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – Provides access to networking features, computers, and data storage space. IaaS gives you the greatest flexibility and management control over your IT resources.

Platform as a Service (PaaS) – PaaS removes the need to manage infrastructure such as hardware and operating systems, allowing you to focus on deployment and management of your applications.

Software as a Service (SaaS) – With a SaaS offering, you won’t need to think about how the service is maintained or the infrastructure is managed. You just need to focus on how you will use that software.

Benefits of AWS cloud computing

Cloud computing offers many benefits, but we have outlined 5 key benefits below:

Access – Relatively unrestricted access to data 24/7, from any mobile device. With the Cloud, businesses can engage with and recruit employees anywhere in the world, without having the technological costs associated with opening a new business location.

Security – Around the clock business security. If anything happens to your files or computers, your data remains secure.

Cost savings - Cloud vendors are responsible for maintaining a service, meaning you don’t have to pay others to install software updates, run backups or manage files.

Data sharing – Share data with employees outside the office with ease.

Business Growth -The cloud can unlock opportunities for expansion without the associated costs of additional servers and installation of software. Cloud computing is also easier and quicker than buying and running hardware.
