Business case development: Learn how to present the reason for establishing or improving a P3O model. You will also explore how to communicate expected value clearly when seeking senior management approval.

Strategic alignment: Discover how portfolio, programme, and project activity can support organisational strategy and deliver value.

The P3O Foundation course is delivered over three days through live virtual classroom training.

Each session is led by a certified and experienced trainer who will guide you through the P3O framework, services, functions, model structures, roles, tools, techniques, and exam preparation.

You will complete a mandatory online pre-course before your live sessions begin. This provides useful background knowledge and gives you a stronger starting point for the trainer-led training.

The course includes the Foundation exam, official P3O manual, tutor support, and structured learning designed to support exam preparation. You have 12 months from the purchase date to take your exam.

This page is for the live Virtual Classroom course. It is not an eLearning course, so you will follow a scheduled trainer-led timetable and have opportunities to ask questions during the sessions.

The P3O Foundation exam assesses your understanding of P3O guidance, terminology, services, functions, roles, model structures, and key concepts.

Your trainer will explain the examination format and revisit the main syllabus areas to help build exam confidence before you sit the assessment.

The exam details are:

• Exam format: Multiple-choice
• Number of questions: 75 questions in total, comprising 70 live questions and five trial questions
• Scored questions: Only the 70 live questions count towards your result
• Pass mark: 35 out of 70, or 50%
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Open or closed book: Closed book
• Materials allowed: None
• Exam delivery: Online through remote proctoring
• Exam location: You can take the remotely proctored exam from a suitable private location that meets the official requirements
